Online CME/CPD!

Introduction

Welcome to NMA CPD/CME online trial program. This section is designed with you in our mind and is completely the idea of NMA Webmaster (not yet approved by NMA CME committee). We start this program with the hope of improving it to meet MDCN standard and eventually adopting it as recognized CME credit activity like many professional licensing bodies awarding online CME credits.

 

While designing the CME program, we introduce many features that will ensure members participation and make CME credits obtained via the online CME activity even more resourceful and credible. We encourage NMA members to try the activity and give us feedback on how we can improve it.

 

NMA online CME is very unique and user friendly, it is the first time that mobile SMS and Web activity is merged together to give a wonderful educational experience you can ever dream of.


Who can try NMA online CME
 This educational activity is for registered NMA Members only. Taking this activity is completely free and optional, and using it is subject to acceptance of our terms of use.

Date of Release/Expiration
 The trial version of online CME will be available between February 10th, 2011 to April 10, 2011. All feedback must be sent to the activity coordinator before 1st May, 2011.

Learning Objectives

After participating in NMA online activity, the participants are expected to be able to:

  • Interpret and apply recent guidelines to the management of patients with commonly diagnosed health problems covered by the online activity.
  • Apply recent guideline changes and utilize new therapies to design individualized management plans for patients in their facilities.
  • Gain significant experience in patients management from supervising consultant and colleagues during activity CME online Conference.
  • Assess new medical and interventional developments that can be achieved through online educational activities.

Steps to earning CME credit online

Member Registration. This is free and instant for all NMA members. Registered members can just login and start using our CME directly (Full CME courses may require payment of small amount to CME committee as decided by NMA.)

Resource Page. Registered members can open our educational materials page to see available materials and CME list for download. Members can choose any CME activity of their interest and download the materials directly. Downloadable materials include PowerPoint presentations, PDF documents, Audio lectures, Video presentation and  related media files. After Download, You are expected to go through the materials and fully understand the content while jotting down any questions you may have.

Registering for CME activity. After reading the materials, you can now decide to register for CME credit for that educational activity. This involves three steps

  • Registering for the activity at our CME portal. You will be asked for your mobile number again during registration. The number will be used for automated communication with you throughout the educational activity.

  • After registering for an activity, you will have to participate in CME online Conference. This is a chat session that will be moderated by that CME activity coordinator/ Consultant. You can thus share ideas with other people that register for that same activity. This is the best time to ask the coordinating consultant any question and doubts about the materials given or clarifications on the topic under discussion. You will be notified by SMS about 5 minutes before the beginning of the CME online chat of any topic you have registered for. You will have to remain in the chat room for the whole length of the session in order to earn the score for that session attendance. The chat session is automated to take the attendance of members periodically without notice. It should be noted that members that are not participating in the forum will be automatically logged out. This measures are taken to ensure active participation of all members. You will be notified by SMS at the end of the session when successfully completed the chat session and awarded CME units for that.

  • Next stage is the final review of your course material material and exams. The exam is MCQ format consisting of 25 questions. The questions will be randomly generated for you. It should be noted that no two users will get same question paper. You will get a different question paper if you are retaking the exam as well.

  • After successful completion of the test with a score of 60% or more, a congratulatory SMS will be sent instantly and a certificate will be mailed to the user.
