HIGHLIGHTS: The Secretariat activities for the month of December, 2010 are highlighted as follows:

WEEK 1

  • The Secretary General attended interview of prospective alternative medicine practitioners organized by the MDCN.

 

WEEK 2

  • The NMA President, Dr. Omede Idris, the Secretary General Dr. B.M. Audu and other council members representing NMA in the MDCN attended the opening and commissioning of the MDCN house in Kaura district of Abuja.

  • The council meeting of the MDCN took place at the conference room of the MDCN house in kaura district with our representatives all in attendance.

  • NMA National Officers Committee met at the conference room of the NMA National secretariat.

  • The National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the NMA held on Saturday 11th December, 2010 at the conference hall of Arewa Suites and Hotel Abuja.

  • Letter from the office of the chairman INEC requesting for partnership and collaboration with INEC on the upcoming voter registration and general election received at the NMA secretariat.

  • Audited report of the 2010 AGC/ADM was received at the NMA Secretariat.

  • Letter of compliant received from NMA Lagos state against Dr. Omolola .A. and Dr. Sanda Umaron ground of reckless violation and anti-association activities was received at the secretariat.

 

WEEK 3

  • The President, Dr. Omede Idris, the Secretary General Dr. B.M. Audu  and Dr. Wokocha attended a summit on election organized by Policy and Advocacy Centre in collaboration with INEC on the forthcoming election at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

  • The President, Dr. Omede Idris attended the meeting of the Presidential Committee on harmonious work relationship amongst health workers in Nigeria at Abuja.

  • Notification of election and change of leadership in NAGGMDP was received at the NMA Secretariat.

 

WEEK 4

  • Letter of condolence sent to His Excellency, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole on the demise of his wife, Clara Oshiomhole.

  • Letters of  appointment sent to  members of the National Disciplinary Committee

  • Letter of Appeal and request for the intervention of the First Lady, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan for the recovery of the NMA Land.

  •  Following NEC decision, sanction letter was sent to Dr. Anthony Omolola, Dr. Umar Oluwole Sanda, Dr. Adeyeye .J. Arigbabowo and Dr. Olayinka Oladosu.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The 2011 annual General Conference and Delegates meeting of the NMA will be taking place in Ibadan, Oyo state from the 27th of April to the 2nd of May, 2011. More details will be forwarded later.

•  Visit our website, www.nigeriannma.org for Latest information and   upcoming events of the Association.

• Send the names of Elected/Appointed Medical Practitioners to executive positions to the National Secretariat.

•  Send pictures of activities of your Branch and NMA affiliates to info@nigeriannma.org.
